A case study of vocational rehabilitation of chronic mentally ill patient

Abstract
Yong-In Mental Hospital started vocational rehabilitation program for the chronic mentally ill patient in 1991. The authors follow-up a schizophrenic patient, who admitted Yong-In Mental Hospital in 1979, through the vocational rehabilitation program. The patient was deficient in social skill, vocational skill, and familial support.
The program consists of 4 stages, 1)Funtional Assessment 2)Transitional Employment 3)Job Placement 4)Job Maintenance. The patient participated in social skill training, job skill training. Group psychotherapy, outing, home visiting, and community meeting.
Without familial support, the patient successfully adapted to the community through the continuous contact of vocational rehabilitation team.
